We are located 1.5 hours out of Boston and attract campers and counselors from all over the USA and abroad. We cater to ages 8-15 and offer 2-2 week sessions, one for boys and one for girls. We offer plenty of time off, one period every day and one day off per week but not including the first week of your contract. We are looking for staff who have an expertise in a certain area and a passion to share that expertise with kids.

  • Oversees all operations and aspects of Camp Life. Responsible for the safety of all campers and staff. Overseer all departments: Food Service, Grounds and Program to ensure a successful summer.

    Under the direction of the Director Education & Youth Engagement, the Camp Director is responsible for the oversight and management of Camp Atwater during the residential season.

  • Camp Counselors are the primary caregivers for each camper. They are responsible for planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out activities and guiding campers in their personal growth and daily living skills. Each counselor will spend two weeks during boy or girl season with a particular hut and an additional two weeks assigned to a specialty program.

  • The Food Service Manager directs the overall food-service operation of the camp including purchasing, preparation, nutrition, service, sanitation, security, personnel management, customer service, and record keeping.

  • The Nurse is responsible for overseeing the health and safety of campers and staff. This position comes with 1-2 camperships for a family member or friend. Work schedule is flexible and can be day (one-two week session commitment is preferred but not required.

  • Specialty Instructors will lead, teach, supervise and ensure the overall safety of the specialty area. Applicants must demonstrate significant experience teaching/coaching in the specialty area, as well as the ability to train and supervise a group of assistants. We require our Specialty Instructors to be able to work autonomously, developing their own program within our camps’ philosophy. We follow a team approach and all work together to ensure the highest quality program and camp experience.

  • To further the mission of the camp through the planning and delivery of activities at the camp’s waterfront that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the camper’s age and abilities. Provide management to the physical operation of the waterfront’s facilities and equipment.

All Camp Atwater staff are required to participate in a preseason orientation, June 24 - 29, 2024. The content of their training will relate to their job responsibilities. i.e. Skills & Practices for Effective Counseling/Mentoring; Child Abuse Recognition/Prevention; Team Building and Program Development exercises; CPR Training; Risk Management Awareness; New & Traditional Games; Class Instruction Curriculum Development; Health & Safety Prevention and Response; Familiarization with the Total Environment, Effectively Addressing Camper Challenges (i.e. Homesickness, bedwetting, inappropriate behavior); etc. All staff must submit to a CORI & SORI review.
